is the place about the sacred Yamuna Valley of Indian Himalayas. A valley least known and least visited by outside visitors
due to its mystic nature. As you enter the forbidden territory, as it was known not long before, you are taken back to almost
18th century. Every experience is unique.
Walk on trails with
no one in sight within miles, ski alone in some of the remotest locations without hundreds of other skiers, challenge the
fast flowing rapids of Himalayan rivers, its ice cool waters in rafts or free climb those demanding heights, a heaven for
photography lovers, bird watchers, and those seeking adventure. Trek, camp, and enjoy white river rafting in most beautiful surroundings. |
Also called 'Devbhumi'
this part of the Himalayas is known as the mythological abode of the Gods having numerous temples, folklore, shrines and people
practicing old traditional rituals as were practiced by the Gods in pre historic days. The people of this valley trace their ancestry back to the days of Mahabharata and claim to be the descendants
of Duryodhana and his followers who are still worshipped in ways quiet unique and different
from all other temples in India. It is also one of the rare places where polyandry marriage is practiced.
According
to Hindu mythological folklore it is the place from where Pandawas went to Heaven (Swarga) passing through this mountain,
the ancient 'Bhojpatras' which was used to write manuscripts thousands of years ago is found here, So strong is the folklore
and its day to day relation to the living people that it amazes everyone for its acceptance and simplicity.
